The Allocation, formerly The View from Apollo, is Apollo's podcast on how private assets fit in investor portfolios. Episodes run by asset class: private equity portfolio construction, infrastructure, real estate after the rate reset, investment grade and hybrid credit, secondaries and even sports as an asset class. Torsten Slok's annual and mid-year outlooks are also released as episodes, so the feed doubles as an audio version of his macro view.
The guests are mostly Apollo investment professionals, which means you hear practitioners explain how they think about cycle timing, structure and manager selection, not just marketing language. The private equity episode from October 2026, for example, compares drawdown and evergreen fund structures and argues for value-oriented, operationally driven strategies late in the cycle.
Each episode page has a lightly edited transcript, which makes it easy to skim before listening. Start with Slok's outlook episode for the macro frame, then choose the asset-class episodes that match your work. The show is on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
