Thoughts on the Market is the most accessible window into Morgan Stanley Research. Each episode is short and focused on one idea, delivered by the people who own the call: Mike Wilson, the firm's CIO and chief U.S. equity strategist; Andrew Sheets, global head of fixed income research; Seth Carpenter, global chief economist; Michael Zezas, deputy global head of research; and analysts across sectors and regions. Roundtables bring several economists together on the global outlook.
The show has run since May 2019 and has more than 1,700 episodes. Topics follow the market closely: equity breadth, bond issuance, Fed policy, oil, the AI capex cycle, housing and elections. Because each episode states a view and the reasoning behind it in a few minutes, it is a good way to learn how strategists frame arguments and which data they lean on.
Listen daily on your commute, and read the transcripts on each episode page when you want to quote a number or follow a chain of logic.
