Global Private Capital Barometer
A twice-yearly survey of institutional investors in private funds, now in its 44th edition: what LPs plan to allocate, which strategies they favor, and how they view secondaries, continuation vehicles and private credit.

Coller Capital, the secondaries specialist now part of EQT as Coller EQT, has surveyed limited partners twice a year for more than 40 editions. The Barometer asks pension funds, endowments, insurers and sovereign funds around the world about their allocation plans, return expectations and views on managers, so it shows where capital is headed before fundraising data confirms it.
Recent editions show how sentiment shifts. The Winter 2025-26 edition found that 77 percent of investors said their managers planned IPOs in 2026, and that private credit ranked as the most attractive alternative asset class for the third year in a row. Six months later, the Summer 2026 edition found that the share of LPs planning to increase private credit allocations had dropped from 42 percent to 29 percent. It also found that 37 percent of LPs said geopolitics was shaping their allocations more than before.
Read two editions side by side to see which way views are moving. The Coller Research Institute also publishes papers on secondaries and continuation vehicles in the same archive.
