Invest Like the Best started in September 2016 and now has more than 600 episodes. Patrick O'Shaughnessy, who now runs the venture firm Positive Sum, interviews public and private market investors, founders and executives. The questions focus on process: how a guest finds ideas, sizes positions, handles mistakes and builds a firm. The early years leaned toward quant and public-market investors, and the recent mix adds more venture capital, technology and AI.
Several guests return regularly, with Michael Mauboussin appearing many times since episode two, and the archive includes Howard Marks on investor psychology, David Einhorn on long-short investing, Bill Gurley on venture capital, and Charlie Munger with John Collison.
Start with the investors whose letters you already read. The conversations fill in reasoning that memos leave out. Colossus posts the episodes free on its site and on podcast apps.
