Bridgewater Research and Insights
The public research library of the largest global macro hedge fund: notes, call excerpts and podcasts from Bridgewater's co-CIOs on regimes, policy, AI and how to build portfolios that hold up across environments.
Free to read
Bridgewater keeps most of its Daily Observations for clients, but it posts a steady stream of research for the public. Recent work is grouped into themes such as what the firm calls modern mercantilism, the vulnerabilities in today's portfolios, and the macro effects of the AI build-out. Pieces come from co-CIOs Karen Karniol-Tambour, Greg Jensen and Bob Prince and from the research staff, and include written notes, excerpts from the firm's quarterly CIO calls and interviews with outside figures.
The value is the vantage point. Bridgewater thinks in terms of growth and inflation regimes, debt cycles and balanced risk, so its notes push readers to ask how an asset behaves in each environment rather than whether it will go up. Older pieces in the library explain the reasoning behind risk parity and All Weather, which shaped how many pensions build portfolios.
Use the theme pages to follow a single argument over several notes. Also worth reading is the selection of 50 Daily Observations the firm released for its 50th anniversary, a rare look at the wire it sends clients.
